Regarding the felling of timber from Nakazawa-yama in Ina District, Shinshū Province, as we are to float one thousand pieces of timber as described in the written document down the Tenryū River, we request that you grant your official endorsement (urahan). Concerning said Nakazawa-yama, there is no joint-use cooperative (iriai kumiai) among the villages of the Goryōsho (shogunally administered lands). We hereby state that we have received timber coming from the mountains of the Goryōsho peasants and are floating it downstream. Should there be anyone making misleading claims about this or any other matter, or should any difficulties arise, we, the undersigned, will explain and resolve the matter to any party concerned. Written hereafter as proof for the future.

The above has been duly prepared and delivered. The dating was begun from the first day, and written through the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th days.
One item: A covering letter was written to the officials of the Iijima Office, the wording of which is as follows:
I humbly write to you. As the weather is gradually becoming warmer, I trust that all of you are in continued good health and carrying out your duties admirably, which I hold in the highest regard. Now then, as four copies of the certificate for Matsudaya Rokurōemon's timber to be floated down to Tōtōmi Province have been dispatched, I have added my endorsement (okugaki) and delivered them to the said person. Though I ask much of you, I request that you proceed with granting the official endorsement (urahan).
