　右三品への（運上）達しの義は御定めによるものにて候、
　または内々の取り決めにて定められ候趣、
　相い尋ね候様（に申し向けたところ）、三・四（名に）相い尋ね候ところ、
　（今まで）の義より一廻り上（の値）の義につき、
　右の訳（わけ）、あらかた（は）只今はっきり（と）これなく候由、
　善蔵申し聞かせ候。

　樫七本のうち四本、庄（屋への）米につき銀にて
　御払い致したき段申し立て、いよいよ

　The matter of reporting (the transport levy) on the aforementioned three goods is as stipulated by official regulation,
　or alternatively, it has been established through informal internal agreement;
　when inquiries were made (to that effect), and three or four persons were asked,
　it appears the levy is one rank higher than it had previously been.
　As for the reason for this, there is no clear explanation available at present —
　so Zenzō has reported.

One item: As there was official business, word came by verbal message from Heijirō-dono that he would come out to attend to it.
　Upon his prompt arrival, the following was conveyed to Kumezaemon-dono:
　— that, as had previously been submitted by a colleague in the same office,
　among the seven oak trees (kashi) located along the Sainokawa-zoi area,
　regarding the four trees designated for village headman rice payment, it had been proposed that payment be made in silver (rather than rice);
　and furthermore, he was instructed to formally submit that the number of trees was indeed four.
　Upon consulting with colleagues on all matters, (it was confirmed that) the number was ■ four trees,
