条左衛門殿より仰せ聞かせられ候は、先月中、
近江屋三人、麻苧・麻布請負運上の願の儀、
願書は御戻しなされ候。今年は見合わせ、当暮
か、さてはまた重ねて願書差し出し候様にとの
仰せ付けられ候。今年の麻苧等
出来方の様子より願い出で候様に
仕るべき旨。依ってこれにより近江屋を呼び寄せ、
申し渡し候。

One item: Today being an official business day, I went to the castle to report on matters.
Jōzaemon-dono informed me that: Regarding the petition submitted last month by the three Ōmiya [merchants] for a contract license (請負運上) on hemp fiber and hemp cloth,
the petition has been returned (i.e., not accepted at this time). This year, they should hold off, and either submit a new petition at the end of this year,
or submit it again at a later date, as instructed. The instruction was that they should submit their petition in accordance with the progress of this year's hemp crop.
Accordingly, Ōmiya was summoned and notified of this decision.
11th Day
One item: Sweetfish (ayu): 15 Isuke
One item: Salmon roe: 1 portion
The above was reportedly caught at the Takami Shingū River.
It was delivered to the official kitchen as fish for the table,
and sake was received from the meal-service attendants (膳番) in return.

One item: Regarding the accounts for the official loan money (御貸付金) from last year, there was a slight discrepancy,
so the ledger was returned to Jōzaemon-sama.
There are attachment slips (付紙) in the ledger. I reported that I would consult with my colleague of the same role, correct the accounts, and submit it again in due course.
