一 十八日、今日、非持村（ひもちむら）の伝四郎の松木山、宝渡（ほうど）まで検知（検分・検地）のため、久原弐貫目（＝手当・日当として二貫目）、壱人（を）召し連れ罷り越し、（検知を）打ち仕廻い（打ち終わり）、罷り帰り候。
幸作病気につき、久右衛門壱人（にて）越され候。

One item: On the 18th day, today, in order to conduct an inspection (kenchi) of Denshirō of Himochi-mura's pine timber mountain, as far as Hōdo, (a party including myself) set out with one person accompanied, with a fee of 2 kanme issued (as expenses/allowance), completed the inspection, and returned.
As Kōsaku was ill, Kyūuemon alone made the journey.
Results of the inspection are as follows:
One item: Pine timber — 4-sun square — 28 pieces
One item: Same — 5-sun square — 12 pieces
One item: Same — 6-sun square — 9 pieces
One item: Same — round logs — 11 pieces
The inspection was carried out in place of (the assigned officer), and (the inspector) has returned.

One item: Today, as Jō Jūzō-dono has been appointed to an official post (goyō-yaku), Kumezaemon-dono has instructed (us) that henceforth we are to receive his direction. Accordingly, notice of respectful acknowledgment was circulated to the Senior Councillors (o-karō-chū), the Elders (o-toshiyori-chū), and the Administrative Officials (o-yōnin-chū). Furthermore, instructions were also given to communicate this to the inner-office staff (uchi-yaku) as well.
