二日
一、今日、条左衛門殿より御面談なさりたい由にて、呼びに参られ候。すなわち参上いたした所、藤沢川に（設置する）御簗（やな）について、御家老中・御年寄中・御用人中が御寄合（会合）を催された。もっとも御用（公用）の御差し替え簗を御打ちなされたい由、先だって御普請方より申し込みがあった由を申し上げ候。さすれば、御用の簗ということながら、御寄合の件につき先だって改め（調査）があった所、御遠慮（差し控え）のお考えである由。その他に簗の場所について方々御尋ねがあったが、近所は皆（すでに）申し込みがあるとの段を申し上げ候。さすれば、先年（以前）の非持（ひもち）を除き、下大明神渕より少し下りた所に小（簗の）また（股）がございます由を申し上げ候。それならば、下役（下級役人）を見分（検分）に遣わすとして、水かかり（水利・水量）その他人夫は何人ほどで出来申すべきか、見積もりを申し上げるよう仰せ聞かされ候。すなわち久兵衛に申し付けて遣わし、明朝いずれとも申し上げるべき段、御挨拶いたして罷り帰り候。
一、今日、松田屋敷より小手形を取りに参られ候。すなわち印形をこちらへ遣わし申し候。
二日
一、五月、久左衛門が月番にて御網打ち取りの魚の員数（数量）を書き上げ候処、御賄方（まかない方）より出された書付と合致しない（不合致）につき、吟味して書付を直し上げるよう、十蔵殿へ仰せ聞かされ候。これにより御賄方と申し談じて、来る五日の御用日（公務の日）までに申し上げるべき由を申し上げ候。網魚通（あみうおどおり＝網漁の台帳）をとくと（十分に）吟味いたした処、さこ（狭子）の欠け数が少々相違いたしており、この段、（ことさら）甚（はなは）だしいことではない旨を申し上げ候。

2nd Day
Item: Today, I was summoned by Jōzaemon-dono who wished to have a meeting. Upon attending, he raised the matter of a fish weir (yana) to be installed on the Fujisawa River. It was reported that the Construction Office (Ofushin-kata) had previously submitted a request to install a replacement weir for official use, and that the senior councilors (karō), elders (otoshiyori), and administrators (oyōnin) had convened about this matter. In response, it was conveyed that while the weir would serve an official purpose, an earlier inspection related to the assembly had resulted in a decision to refrain from proceeding. Further inquiries were made regarding other possible weir locations, but it was reported that all nearby sites had already been applied for. It was then suggested that, excluding the previously designated non-holding (himochi) area, there was a small tributary fork (mata) slightly downstream from the Lower Daimyōjin pool (Shimo Daimyōjin-fuchi). Upon hearing this, Jōzaemon-dono instructed me to send a subordinate official to inspect the site and to estimate how many laborers would be needed, taking into account water flow and other conditions. I duly dispatched Kyūbei to carry this out, and gave my regards, reporting that I would provide a full answer the following morning, before returning.
Item: Today, someone came from the Matsuda residence to collect a small certificate (kohyōkata/kotekata). I accordingly sent the seal/stamp to them.
2nd Day
Item: In the 5th month, during Kyūzaemon's rotation as duty officer (tsukiban), a report was submitted on the number of fish caught by net fishing. As this did not match the written record submitted by the Provisions Office (Makanai-kata), Jūzō-dono instructed that the matter be investigated and the written record corrected. Accordingly, after consulting with the Provisions Office, it was reported that a reply would be submitted by the 5th, the next official business day (oyō-bi). Upon carefully reviewing the net fishing ledger (ami-uo-tōri), it was found that there was a slight discrepancy in the count of "sako" (a type of small fish/catch category), and it was reported that this discrepancy was not of any great significance.
