一 今日、御用（の）条左衛門殿より仰せ聞かされ候は、
簗役相成り候節、遠方へは下役を差し越し、その上私どもが罷り代わり止宿
致し候義、いずれの時分より相頼み済み（か）、
■この段、先々の衆へ相尋ね候よう、この度申し上げ申し候。以上、無之（なき）
実法状（につき）直ちに出し候よう、追って承り合わせ申し聞かせ候ようにと仰せ付けられ、
その節、御挨拶申し上げ候は、遠方は下役ども（が）近所へ入り、私ども（の）下役（が）
近辺を役し候までの義、差し憚り御考え（に）仕りよう無きと
申し上げ候。この訳（わけ）有之（これあり）候上、此（これ）候（えども）、
扶持（ふち）無之（これなき）候。
一 今日、丑年諸運上（の）勘定書面、違いの様（よう）申し上げ候にて、直（ちに）申し候。

To: ■Tō Rizaemon-dono From: Kyūzaemon
Item: We wish to install a fish weir (yana) at Kami-■shima; we have received acknowledgment of our notification regarding this matter.
Item: Today, Jōzaemon-dono [an official] informed us of the following matter regarding official duties:
At the time of weir duty (yana-yaku), [the practice of] sending lower officials (shita-yaku) to distant locations, and furthermore having us [senior officials] substitute and lodge [at those locations]—from what point in time was this arrangement agreed upon?
■ He instructed us to inquire among those who have been involved previously regarding this matter. Furthermore, [he instructed] that a formal document (jippōjō) be submitted promptly, and that we be informed after further inquiry.
In response, we replied at that time: as for distant locations, lower officials enter the vicinity, and our own lower officials serve in nearby areas — we stated that there was no appropriate way to consider the matter [differently] without hesitation.
Even with this explanation on record, [the officials] receive no stipend (fuchi).
Item: Today, regarding the account documents for various levies (un-jō) of the Year of the Ox (丑年), it was reported that there appeared to be a discrepancy, and [the matter] was immediately addressed.
