朔日（一日）
一、今日初午、前例の通り
九つ時過ぎ、各自の都合に合わせて参詣
相済みました。
二日
一、今日、川長へ罷り出た両人が
帰って参りましたが、水が涸れておりますので
まったく鳥類は見かけなかったとのことです。
四日
一、米五斗八升、但し二人扶持
右は二月・三月両月分
久兵衛への御扶持米の文言は例の通り、
前書きの通り相違ございません。以上

恐れながら書付をもって願い奉ります。
一、私儀、今日まで紙漉き商売を
仕り候えども、年が寄り、その上近年
病身になり申し候に付き、当年より
右の職を止め申したく存じ奉ります。御運上
の義、御免じ遊ばし下し置かれるよう
願い奉ります。

Second Month Kōsaku
First day
One, Today is Hatsu-Uma [First Day of the Horse]; as per previous precedent,
After the ninth hour [around noon], participants attended the shrine visit
at their own convenience. The matter has been concluded.
Second day
One, The two persons who went out to Kawachō [the river area]
have returned. Due to the low water levels,
they reported seeing no waterfowl whatsoever.
Fourth day
One, Rice: five to eight shō; this is for two persons' stipend
The above covers the stipends for both the second and third months.
The wording regarding Kyūbei's stipend rice follows the usual formula,
and there are no discrepancies from the preceding entry. Above.
Akabane Kōsaku
With all due respect, I humbly submit this written petition.
One, I have until now been engaged in the trade of papermaking,
however, as I have grown old and furthermore have become
infirm in recent years, I wish to cease
the said trade from this year forward. I humbly petition
that I be granted exemption from the trade tax (un'jō)
associated with the above.
