右の願書は四日に組頭が持参いたしましたので、事情を尋ねましたところ、相違もないため、五日の御用の際にご報告申し上げました。なお、右の書付はお目通しのためお渡しいたしました。
八日
一、川長へ罷り出ておりました御中間が、今日
真鴨を一羽取って帰って参りました。すぐに
御月番へ申し上げ、例の通り
御繕番中へ御坊主を通じて
差し出しました。
同日
一、川長へ罷り出ておりました御中間について、今度は畑へ
引き上げさせるべきかどうかを
御月番の日にお伺い申し上げましたところ、お伺いの通り
引き上げるよう仰せ渡されました。

The above petition was brought in person by the group head on the fourth day. Upon inquiring into the circumstances, there were found to be no discrepancies, and the matter was accordingly reported during official business on the fifth day. Furthermore, the said written document was submitted for your inspection.
Eighth day
One, The manservant (chūgen) who had been dispatched to Kawachō returned today
having caught one mallard duck. This was immediately
reported to the Monthly Duty Officer (tsukiban), and following precedent,
the duck was forwarded to those on repair/maintenance duty (tsukuroi-ban)
through the intermediary of a page (bōzu).
Same day
One, Regarding the manservant dispatched to Kawachō, a query was made
on the day of the Monthly Duty Officer as to whether he should now
be recalled to the fields (畑; upland fields/base station). The response was
that he should be recalled, as requested.
