一、条左衛門殿の御手紙、左の通り。
「この節、魚（うお）の候（こう）の趣（おもむき）、相聞こえ候。これにより、綱打（つなうち）を請け取り、早速一つ差し出し奉り存じ候。今日、久左衛門、遠出につき申し入れ候。以上。

右の通り、同役方へ申し送り置き候。これにより、御綱打（おつなうち）、両人請け取り申し候。条左衛門殿罷り越し候様、相伺い、三番へ両人ずつ差し出すべき段、申し上げ候。左の通り申し付け候様に御渡し仕り候。則ち今日より差し出し候。

一、例年の通り、飯嶋・海嶋（かいしま）御飛脚、来る廿三日差し越し申すべき段、相伺い候。御荷物等御買方・御薪（おまき）御用人■、御目にかけ、その外、酒指し出来候■、承引（しょういん）・御差■も御座無く候。然らば、来る廿日、諸事差し出し等、然るべく候段、申し候。近年より中実（なかじつ）押田茂兵衛（おしだもへえ）、元〆手代（もとじめてだい）小島実太夫（こじまじつだゆう）代（かわり）坂田伴左衛門（さかたともざえもん）殿と申し候へば、松田屋六左衛門（まつだやろくざえもん）に申し付けにて承り置き候。

"At this time, [we] have heard that fish [runs/season] are favorable. Accordingly, [we] have received the net-casters (tsunauchi) and wish to promptly dispatch one [of them]. As Kuzaemon is away on a distant errand today, [I] submit this communication. The above is submitted.
9th Month, 11th Day Kamiya Jōzaemon

The above has been communicated and sent to colleagues of the same post. Accordingly, both net-casters (otsunauchi) have been received. [We] inquired as to whether Jōzaemon-dono might come over, and reported that two persons each should be dispatched to the third [watch/station]. [The instructions] were conveyed in the manner described below, and dispatch has begun from today.

1. On an official duty day, [the following was] reported to Jōzaemon-dono, as follows:
1. Regarding dispatching the official messenger (ohikyaku) for Iijima and Kaishima as per custom in previous years — [we] inquired about dispatching [the messenger] on the 23rd of next month. Regarding official goods, purchases, firewood, the official attendant ■, [we] presented [these matters] for [Jōzaemon-dono's] inspection; moreover, regarding the arrangement of sake [offering/serving] ■, there was no approval or [formal] permission granted. In that case, [the response] was that all matters should be ready for dispatch around the 20th of next month. [It was conveyed that] in recent years, Nakajitsu Oshida Mohei, and in place of the Motojime-tedai (chief clerk) Kojima Jitsudayū, Sakata Tomozaemon-dono — if that is the case, [the matter] was to be entrusted to Matsudaya Rokuzaemon, and [we] have received and noted this [instruction].
