まいりましたが、天保五午年の類焼後、町方の馬が少なく
なり、伝馬を勤める者が次々と渡し金を増額し、近年は
諸品が高値になり、その上町方で勤める者がおらず、
芦沢村または北原村と場所を替えて勤める渡し

Regarding the matter of town post horses, until around the Bunka and Bunsei eras, we accepted the service for one ryō and two bu per horse. However, as it became difficult to continue this service, in the summer of Bunsei era we petitioned for a 40% increase over the original wage and have continued our service. However, after the great fire in Tenpō 5 (Year of the Horse), the number of horses in the town decreased, and those providing post horse service have gradually increased their fees. In recent years, all goods have become expensive, and moreover, there are no people willing to work in the town, so we exchange locations with Ashizawa Village or Kitahara Village for service...
