右二株、この度、三宅肥後様御内（家中）の清水藤太夫殿より譲り受け申し候。これにより、高砂町の持屋敷にて酒造商売を仕りたく存じ候につき、願い上げ奉り候。
右の趣、御慈悲をもって願い上げ候通り仰せ付けくだし置かれ候わば、ありがたき仕合わせに存じ奉り候。以上。 高砂町

右の通り、願書を三日に御城中口にて矢沢氏へ差し出し申し候ところ、御奉行様御引き（御引渡し）になり持参仕り候。さらに又、六日に川池様御宅にて三橋氏御取次ぎにて差し上げ申し候ところ、願書を書き直して再提出するよう御沙汰につき、町代を呼びこの段申し渡し（た）。

The above two brewing licenses have been transferred to us on this occasion from Shimizu Tōdayū, a retainer of Lord Miyake Higo. Accordingly, we wish to conduct sake brewing and commerce at our own residence in Takasago-machi, and therefore respectfully submit this petition.
We humbly pray that, in your benevolence, you will grant our petition as requested, for which we would be most grateful. Respectfully submitted. Takasago-machi.

To the Magistrate's Office
[Memorandum:] As noted above, the petition was submitted to Mr. Yazawa at the castle gate on the 3rd day of the month. It was returned by the Magistrate and brought back. Furthermore, on the 6th day, it was submitted again through Mr. Mitsuhashi at the residence of Lord Kawaike, whereupon an order was issued to rewrite and resubmit the petition. The town representative was summoned and informed of this instruction.
