恐れながら申し上げます
橘屋平右衛門の息子善次について、安政六年未年に願い出て、九年間の年季で内弟子として鍛冶職の修業をしておりましたが、すでに年季が明けることになりましたので、暇（解雇）をいただきたく存じます。
よって願い出ます。
右の趣旨について 清水町

御奉行所様
同月二十七日に御部屋口にて井上宅兵衛殿へ提出し、同二十八日に御城中ノ口にて許可の御沙汰がありましたので、月末に印鑑を持参して御普請方御役所へ出頭するよう、町代藤蔵へ申し渡しがありました。

Humbly submitted:
Regarding Zenji, son of Tachibana-ya Heiuemon, we petitioned in Ansei 6 (1859), the year of the Sheep, for him to serve as an apprentice for a nine-year term to learn the blacksmith trade. As his term of service has now come to an end, we wish to grant him his discharge.
Therefore, we respectfully petition.

To the Magistrate's Office
On the 27th day of the same month, this was submitted to Lord Inoue Takubei at the御部屋口 (Goheyaguchi). On the 28th day, approval was granted at the 御城中ノ口 (Gojo-naka-no-kuchi). Accordingly, instructions were given to town representative Tozo that [the petitioner] should appear at the Construction Office (Ofushin-kata) at the end of the month with his seal.
