私は同町の金次のところで九年間内弟子として鍛冶職を習い、無事に修業期間を終えることができました。ついては今年から一人前の職人として働きたいと思いますので、御鑑札をいただきたく、お願い申し上げます。

I humbly submit this petition.
I have completed my nine-year apprenticeship in blacksmithing under Kinji of the same town without incident. I would now like to work as an independent craftsman from this year, and therefore request to receive an official license.
