とて。井上には御刀を賜（タマハリ）て江⁻戸へ帰（カヘシ）たまひしかば。太⁻田に
も仰のとほりに禄を増（マシ）たまひしとき。涙（ナミタ）を流（ナガ）して怡（ヨロコ）び

飲ませたりと聞いて、予が怒って長刀を提げて久三郎を呼んだところ、久三郎は肌を脱いで大声を上げて「魚に人を替える無道では、天下に旗を揚げることなど思いもよらない」と罵った時、予はその言葉に屈服して内に入り、よくよく思うに、走りの者が池の鳥を捕った罪を咎めて置いたのを、諫めるためであろうと気づいたので、早速走りの者を赦し、久三郎を召して「汝の志、かえすがえすも喜ばしい」と厚く称賛したところ、久三郎は涙を流して「密かに申し上げるべきを、今戦国の時であるから、手荒なのがよろしかろうと存じ、無礼な言葉

を申したのに、このような仰せを承って、恐縮さが身に余ります」といって、深く喜んだのである。今太田にも三千石の禄を与えられよということで、井上には御刀を賜って江戸へ帰らせたまったので、太田にも仰せの通りに禄を増したまった時、涙を流して喜んだ。台廟（秀忠）にも、主計頭が申すにより、賞罰をも弁え、孝道にも適っていると仰せあって、左文字の御刀を賜った。このようなことを君臣一体というべきである。有り難いことどもである。
