御道⁻具の役⁻義につき。火⁻急（キフ）に伺たきは。明-日江⁻戸御伺の獄⁻
門三⁻人の外。今一₋人同⁻罪のものこれあるなれども。その者
は此 領（リヤウ）⁻内（ナイ）にて上もなき方なれは。士⁻民同⁻様の獄⁻門⁻台（ダイ）には

However, since that person is of the highest rank in this domain, he cannot use the same execution platform as commoners and samurai. Moreover, considering his preferences, if we are to construct one from raw wood with lacquer work, gold powder, or scattered family crests, completion would be uncertain by the time the courier returns from Edo. Therefore, I wish to order it tonight." When he said this was why he came to consult, the lord became greatly enraged, saying "When you speak of 'the person of highest rank in the domain' and 'scattered crests,' are you referring to me? I will not allow you to remain in that position!"

While the farmers have long lived peacefully in their homes, to adopt policies that benefit only the upper class without regard for their hardship is not necessarily the fault of your administrators alone. Particularly with an increase of 100,000 koku, in peacetime there will be corvée duties, in wartime there will be military service. People will flee, the populace will scatter, and the nation will thereby invite ruin. To pursue immediate profit while ignoring future harm is, I believe, solely your lordship's fault, and therefore you should share the same punishment." And so, [he spoke of] execution
