現代語訳
一、額の作り方 大額、小額、丸額、瓜頭額、剃り上げ額 皆人々の生まれつきに合わせて、大顔、小顔、丸顔、長い顔、短い顔を考慮して作りなさるべし。生え際の墨はなるほど薄々と、高嶺の花に霞のかかった様子のように、小額より上にて引き捨て消すべし。左の方にゆがみがちなものである。鼻筋を中心の墨とし給うべし。
一、眉に新を入れること 霞の内に弓張月がほのかに出るかのように、薄々と引き給うべし。墨が濃く太いのは卑しくて、地蔵の顔のようである。少なすぎるのはすげなく見え、尻上がりなのは軽薄に見える。人々の目元に合わせて眉は作るものである。

- Creating the forehead: Large forehead, small forehead, round forehead, melon-shaped forehead, shaved forehead - all should be created according to each person's natural features, considering whether they have a large face, small face, round face, long face, or short face. The ink at the hairline should indeed be applied very lightly, like mist covering flowers on high peaks. Above the small forehead area, one should draw and then fade it away. It tends to become crooked toward the left side. The bridge of the nose should serve as the central reference line.
- Applying fresh ink to eyebrows: Like a crescent moon faintly emerging from within the mist, they should be drawn very lightly. When the ink is dark and thick, it looks vulgar, like the face of a Jizo statue. Too little looks cold and unfriendly, while upward-slanting eyebrows appear frivolous. Eyebrows should be shaped according to each person's eye area.
