七五三のくいやう右（みき）にて箸（はし）をとり食（めし）をとりあげ二はし三は
しくい扨（さて）箸（はし）をもちながら右（みぎ）にて汁（しる）を取（とり）あげ左（ひたり）へとりうつ
して汁（しる）をすはすして実（み）を二はし三はしくい又 右（みぎ）へとりうつ
して下（した）にをき又 食（めし）を二 箸（はし）くゐてまへのごとく汁（しる）をとりてみ
をくふべし三どめには汁（しる）をすふて実（み）をくわすして本膳（ほんぜん）
の中（なか）もりより左（ひだり）のすみそれより右（みぎ）のすみとくふべし

七五三の食い様：右手にて箸を取り、飯を取り上げ二箸三箸食い、さて箸を持ちながら右にて汁を取り上げ左へ取り移して汁をすすりて実を二箸三箸食い、また右へ取り移して下に置き、また飯を二箸食いて前の如く汁を取りて実を食うべし。三度目には汁をすすりて実を食わずして、本膳の中盛りより左の隅、それより右の隅と食うべし。

How to eat in the seven-five-three style: Take the chopsticks with the right hand, pick up rice and eat two or three bites, then while holding the chopsticks, pick up the soup with the right hand and transfer it to the left, sip the soup and eat the solid ingredients with two or three bites, then transfer back to the right and place it down. Again eat rice with two chopsticks, then take soup as before and eat the ingredients. On the third time, sip the soup but do not eat the ingredients, and eat from the center serving of the main tray to the left corner, then to the right corner.
