花挿け様（いけよう）の作法《割書：千利休の流派において重要な箇所をそのまま記す》
まず花を生ける際の道具として、盆へ花並びに小刀、鋏、布巾などを取り揃え、床の間の右の方へ置く。花器の据わり具合をよく確かめ、水を七分ほど入れて花を生け終えたら、床の間の左の方に置いた水次（水差し）にて、普通に水を注ぎ足す。床の間より三尺ほど後ろに下がってよく見て、その後水次と花盆を勝手（台所）へ持ち入れる。布巾は花生けに使う薄板を拭くためのものである。客へ花を所望された時も、右の道具類を亭主が持ち出して床の間へ据え、所望に応じるべきである。切り散らした枝葉は綺麗に片付けるべきである。すなわち花盆は図の通りである。

The proper method for flower arranging《Marginal note: Recording important points from Sen no Rikyu's school as they are》
First, prepare the tools for flower arranging: gather flowers along with a small knife, scissors, and cloth on a tray, and place them on the right side of the tokonoma (alcove). Carefully determine the proper placement of the flower vessel, fill it about seven-tenths with water, and after finishing the arrangement, use the water pitcher placed on the left side of the tokonoma to add water as usual. Step back about three shaku (approximately 3 feet) from the tokonoma, observe carefully, then carry the water pitcher and flower tray back to the kitchen area. The cloth is for wiping the thin board used for flower arranging. When a guest requests flowers, the host should also bring out these same tools, place them in the tokonoma, and fulfill the request. Scattered cut branches and leaves should be tidily disposed of. The flower tray should be as shown in the diagram.
