一中小性目付 徒士以上中小性に至るまでを無足という。中小性目付は無足中の勤怠邪正を査定してこれを用人へ密告し、賞すべきはこれを賞し、罰すべきはこれを罰す。その他すべて伺い届け等の取り次ぎをなす。
一中小性目付格 目付の役に与ることなく格席たるのみ。
一中小性 給人馬廻と同じく事あるときは主君の左右を警備し、常に諸役を勤務するものあり。

Two-person stipend given to the eldest son of those ranked down to stipended retainer (kyūnin).
One Kyūnin Rank: Same duties as working stipended retainers.
One Kyūnin Associate: Those who hold stipended retainer status and perform external duties.
One Ashless Attendant (musoku kinshū): Like side attendants, they handle the lord's affairs.
One Ashless Physician: Equivalent to court physicians.
One Page Inspector (chūkoshō metsuke): Those from foot soldiers up to pages are called "ashless." The page inspector evaluates the diligence and conduct of the ashless retainers, secretly reports this to the administrators, rewards those who should be rewarded, and punishes those who should be punished. They also handle all other intermediary duties for petitions and notifications.
One Page Inspector Rank: Does not participate in inspector duties, holding only honorary rank.
One Page: Like stipended mounted attendants, when there are affairs they guard the lord's immediate vicinity, and some regularly perform various duties.
