兵威は次第に強く盛んになって、長髄彦をはじめとして、菟田の兄猾、八十梟帥、兄磯城などという数多の大敵をことごとく滅ぼした。甲寅の年に日向国を出発されてから十年を経て、辛酉の年、大和国の畝傍山を切り開いて、初めて内裏を作り、帝位に即かれた。これを橿原宮と申す。すなわちこれが神武天皇元年である。宇摩志麻治命と道臣命の両人は、武功が優れていたので、軍兵を率いて内裏を警固した。道臣命が司る軍兵を来目部といい、宇摩志麻治命が司る所を物部という。今に至るまで武士を「もののふ」というのは、これより始まった。天種子命、天富命が左右に侍って政治を執行した。天種子命は天児屋根命（春日大明神）の末裔で、藤原氏の先祖である。また宇摩志麻治命と（以下続く）
