を抑制しようということであったのかもしれない。しかしながら、万機の政事について、まず基経に申し上げ、その後に奏聞することとした。十一月、大嘗会が行われた。
仁和元年正月、摂津国内において、遊猟の地を基経に賜った。四月、基経の五十歳の誕生日を祝われた。八月、神泉苑に行幸され、魚釣りをし、馬をご覧になった。十一月、僧正遍照を召して、その七十歳の誕生日を祝われた。
二年正月、基経の嫡男時平十六歳が内裏において元服し、天皇が御自ら加冠された。基経は様々な物を献上して謝意を表した。八月丁未の日、釈奠が例年通り行われた。博士が周易を講義した。基経が来て孔子を拝した。十二月十四日、芹川野へ行幸され、鷹狩りをされた。天皇は遊猟を好まれ、しばしば出御があった。

was perhaps intended to suppress his authority. However, regarding all matters of government, it was decided that they would first be reported to Mototsune and then presented to the Emperor. In the 11th month, the Daijōe (Great Thanksgiving Festival) was held.
In the 1st year of Ninna, 1st month, the Emperor granted Mototsune hunting grounds within Settsu Province. In the 4th month, he celebrated Mototsune's 50th birthday. In the 8th month, he made an imperial visit to Shin'sen-en garden, where he fished and observed horses. In the 11th month, he summoned Priest-Administrator Henjō and celebrated his 70th birthday.
In the 2nd year, 1st month, Mototsune's eldest son Tokihira, aged sixteen, came of age in the imperial palace, with the Emperor personally performing the capping ceremony. Mototsune presented various gifts in gratitude. On the day of Teimi in the 8th month, the Shakuten (ceremony honoring Confucius) was held as usual. A doctor lectured on the I Ching. Mototsune came and paid respects to Confucius. On the 14th day of the 12th month, the Emperor made an imperial visit to Serikawa-no for falconry. The Emperor was fond of hunting and frequently made such excursions.
