〔醍醐天皇〕
〔在位〕十六年。年号は昌泰三年・延喜二十二年・延長八年。在位合わせて三十三年。その在位年数が長かったことにより、「延喜の帝」と申し上げるのであろう。醍醐寺の辺りに葬られたことにより、醍醐天皇と申し上げる。
六十一代
朱雀院 醍醐天皇の第十一皇子である。諱は寛明（ひろあきら）。母は皇后藤原穏子といい、昭宣公〔藤原基経〕の娘である。
延長三年十月、三歳にして皇太子となる。
同八年九月に譲位を受け、十一月に即位された。時に八歳。左大臣藤原忠平が摂政となる。
承平元年七月、宇多法皇が崩御された。御年六十五歳。
二年八月、右大臣藤原定方が薨去された。御年六十五歳。〔割書：三条の右大臣と号す〕
十一月、大嘗会。一代に一度の大神宝を、伊勢および〔以下次頁へ続く〕

[Emperor Daigo]
[Reign:] sixteen years. The era names were: three years of Shōtai, twenty-two years of Engi, and eight years of Enchō — thirty-three years in total. Because of the length of his reign, he is referred to as "the Emperor of Engi." He is called Emperor Daigo because he was buried in the vicinity of Daigo-ji temple.
The Sixty-First Sovereign
Suzaku-in: The eleventh son of Emperor Daigo. His personal name (imina) was Hiroyoshi (Hiroyakira/Yutaakira). His mother was Empress Fujiwara no Onshi (Yasuko), daughter of Shōsenkyō [Fujiwara no Mototsune].
In the third year of Enchō, tenth month, he became Crown Prince at the age of three.
In the eighth year of the same era, ninth month, he received the abdication, and in the eleventh month was enthroned. He was eight years old at the time. Minister of the Left Fujiwara no Tadahira served as regent (sesshō).
In the first year of Jōhei, seventh month, the Retired Emperor Uda (Uda Hōō) passed away. He was sixty-five years of age.
In the second year, eighth month, Minister of the Right Fujiwara no Sadakata passed away. He was sixty-five years of age. [Interlinear note: He was known as the Minister of the Right of Sanjō.]
