二月、大赦を行われた。東国・西海の兵乱が鎮まったことによるものである。
五年三月、伊勢・宇佐へ奉幣使を立てられ、初めて賀茂の社へ行幸があった。これも兵乱が鎮まったゆえである。
七年四月、藤原実頼が右大臣に任じられた。忠平の嫡男である。
八年九月、左大臣藤原仲平が薨去した。享年七十一。枇杷左大臣と号する。
九年四月、天皇は位を御弟・成明に譲られ、朱雀院に移り住まわれた。太上天皇の尊号を奉った。年号は承平七年・天慶九年、在位合わせて十六年。
第六十二代
村上天皇 醍醐天皇の第十四子。朱雀天皇と同腹の弟である。諱は成明。朱雀天皇に子がないため、成明を太子とし、位を譲られた。

In the second month, a general amnesty (daisha) was proclaimed, on account of the pacification of the military disturbances in the eastern provinces and the western seas.
In the third month of the fifth year (of Tengyō), imperial envoys bearing offerings (hōheishi) were dispatched to the shrines at Ise and Usa, and for the first time, an imperial visit (gyōkō) was made to the Kamo Shrine. This too was because the military disturbances had been quelled.
In the fourth month of the seventh year, Fujiwara no Saneyori was appointed as Minister of the Right (Udaijin). He was the eldest son of Tadahira.
In the ninth month of the eighth year, the Minister of the Left (Sadaijin), Fujiwara no Nakahira, passed away. He was seventy-one years old. He was known by the posthumous title "Biwa Sadaijin" (Minister of the Left of Biwa).
In the fourth month of the ninth year, the Emperor abdicated in favor of his imperial younger brother, Nariakira, and took up residence at Suzaku-in. He was given the honorary title of Retired Emperor (Daijō Tennō). The era names spanned Jōhei (year seven) and Tengyō (year nine), with a combined reign of sixteen years.
The Sixty-Second Sovereign
Emperor Murakami: The fourteenth son of Emperor Daigo, and the younger brother of Emperor Suzaku by the same mother. His personal name (imina) was Nariakira. Since Emperor Suzaku had no children, Nariakira was designated Crown Prince, and the throne was passed to him.
