源清蔭らを勅使として、その葬所へ行き向かわせた。摂政二十年【注：別本では「十二年」】、関白八年と云々。
九月、陽成太上天皇が崩じた。享年八十一。
十二月、大江朝綱・橘直幹・菅原文時・大江維時らの博士に命じて詩を撰ばせ、小野道風をして、その詩を屏風の絵の上に書かせた。絵は巨勢公忠の筆である。
四年（天暦四年・950年）七月、第二皇子・憲平を皇太子とした。
五年（天暦五年・951年）、藤原伊尹を和歌所の別当として、源順・大中臣能宣・清原元輔・紀時文・坂上望城の五人に命じて、梨壺において後撰和歌集を作らせた。順は、詩文・和歌いずれにも優れた博学の人であった。
六年（天暦六年・952年）八月、朱雀太上天皇が崩じた。享年三十。
七年（天暦七年・953年）三月、大納言兼民部卿・藤原元方が卒した。享年六十。

[Minamoto no] Kiyokage and others were dispatched as imperial envoys (chokushi) to proceed to the site of [Tadahira's] funeral. [Tadahira had served as] Regent (Sesshō) for twenty years — [Note: an alternate edition reads "twelve years"] — and as Chancellor (Kanpaku) for eight years, and so forth.
In the ninth month, Retired Emperor Yōzei passed away. He was eighty-one years of age.
In the twelfth month, scholars (hakase) including Ōe no Tomotsuna, Tachibana no Naomoto, Sugawara no Fumitoki, and Ōe no Koretoki were commanded to select and compose poems, and Ono no Tōfū was made to write those poems upon the surface of the paintings on a folding screen (byōbu). The paintings were executed by the brush of Kose no Kimitada.
In the fourth year [of Tenryaku, 950], in the seventh month, the second imperial prince, Norihira, was designated Crown Prince.
In the fifth year [of Tenryaku, 951], Fujiwara no Koretada was appointed as the Director (bettō) of the Bureau of Japanese Poetry (Wakadokoro), and five individuals — Minamoto no Shitago, Ōnakatomi no Yoshinobu, Kiyohara no Motosuke, Ki no Tokifumi, and Sakanoue no Mochiki — were commanded to compile the Gosen Wakashū (Later Collection of Japanese Poetry) at the Nashitsubo (Pear Chamber). Shitago was a man of broad learning, excelling in both Chinese prose and verse as well as Japanese poetry (waka).
In the sixth year [of Tenryaku, 952], in the eighth month, Retired Emperor Suzaku passed away. He was thirty years of age.
In the seventh year [of Tenryaku, 953], in the third month, Fujiwara no Motōkata, Great Counselor (Dainagon) concurrently serving as Minister of Popular Affairs (Minbu-kyō), passed away. He was sixty years of age.
