二年（965年）四月、右大臣藤原顕忠が薨去した。享年六十八歳。十二月、天皇の四十歳の御賀があった。
三年（966年）正月、源高明が右大臣に任じられた。これは延喜帝（醍醐天皇）の皇子である。八月、律師良源が天台座主となった。慈恵僧正とはこの人物のことである。
四年（967年）五月二十五日、天皇が崩御された。享年四十二歳。年号は天暦十年・天徳四年・応和三年・康保四年で、在位は合わせて二十一年であった。

In the second year [of Kōho, 965], in the fourth month, the Minister of the Right (udaijin) Fujiwara no Akitada passed away. He was sixty-eight years old. In the twelfth month, a celebration was held for the Emperor's fortieth year.
In the third year [of Kōho, 966], in the first month, Minamoto no Takaakira was appointed Minister of the Right. He was a son of the Engi Emperor [Emperor Daigo]. In the eighth month, the Vinaya Master (ritsushi) Ryōgen became the Tendai Seat-Master (zasu, i.e., head abbot of the Tendai sect). This is the monk known as the Jie Sōjō.
In the fourth year [of Kōho, 967], on the twenty-fifth day of the fifth month, the Emperor passed away. He was forty-two years old. The reign spanned the eras of Tenryaku (ten years), Tentoku (four years), Ōwa (three years), and Kōho (four years), with a total reign of twenty-one years.

Emperor Reizei The second imperial son of Emperor Murakami, his personal name (imina) was Norihira. His mother was the Empress Consort Yasuko, who was the daughter of the Minister of the Right Morosuke. He was born in the fifth month of the fourth year of Tenryaku [950], and became Crown Prince in the seventh month. From the second month of the fourth year of Kōho [967], he suffered from an illness caused by evil spirits (jaki), and his mental condition was not normal.
