現代語訳
長和元年正月、道長の娘妍子を中宮とした。三月、二十一社に奉幣し、五穀豊穣を祈った。
二年九月、道長の館に行幸された。十一月、石清水八幡宮へ行幸。十二月、賀茂神社に行幸。この時より以後、代々両社への行幸が行われるようになった。同月、中宮の少進藤原雅信という者が、同所の侍藤原惟兼に殺された。道長は怒って、惟兼を捕縛して禁獄した。
三年二月九日、内裏が焼失した。五月、道長の館に行幸し、競馬や騎射などの御遊びがあった。六月、叡山の恵心院の僧都源信が寂した。
四年九月、内裏の造営が完成した。十月、道長の五十歳の祝いが行われた。十一月、内裏が再び炎上した。
英語訳
In the first year of Chōwa, first month, Michinaga's daughter Kenshi was made Empress. Third month, offerings were made at the twenty-one shrines, praying for abundant grain harvests.
In the second year, ninth month, the Emperor made a visit to Michinaga's residence. Eleventh month, imperial visit to Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine. Twelfth month, imperial visit to Kamo Shrine. From this time forward, imperial visits to both shrines became a tradition for successive generations. Same month, a person called Fujiwara no Masanobu, Minor Controller of the Empress's Household, was killed by Fujiwara no Korekane, a retainer of the same office. Michinaga became angry and had Korekane arrested and imprisoned.
In the third year, second month, ninth day, the Imperial Palace burned down. Fifth month, imperial visit to Michinaga's residence, where there were imperial entertainments such as horse racing and mounted archery. Sixth month, the monk Genshin of Eshin-in on Mount Hiei died.
In the fourth year, ninth month, the reconstruction of the Imperial Palace was completed. Tenth month, Michinaga's fiftieth birthday was celebrated. Eleventh month, the Imperial Palace burned down again.
