Years passed, and when the Kumaso rebelled again, he made Prince Ousu no Mikoto the general and had him subdue them. The prince was sixteen years old, ten feet tall in stature, and so strong he could lift a bronze cauldron. The general of the Kumaso was called Kawakami Takeru. When he had gathered his clan for a drinking party, the prince disguised himself as a woman and went to spy on them. Kawakami saw him and thought he was a beautiful woman, so he took his hand and spent the night with him. When night fell and there were no people around, the prince drew his sword from within his sleeve and stabbed Kawakami in the chest. Kawakami was startled and asked, "Who are you?" The prince told him truthfully. Kawakami said, "Within Tsukushi, there is no one with greater strength than I. Yet now I am killed by you, my lord. Therefore, your honorable name shall be called Yamato Takeru no Mikoto." Having said this, he finally died. The prince immediately pacified his clan and returned to Yamato.
