現代語訳
これは兵法において、伏兵が野にあれば、飛雁の行列を乱すと言われている。この辺りに武衡兄弟が兵を隠し置いているに違いないとして、探し求めたところ、果たして敵三十余人が薮沢の中にいるのを見つけ出して殺した。この兵法は義家がかつて大江匡房より相伝したものである。このようにして城中はなお強く、寄せ手も多く討たれたので、義家・義光並びに清衡は相談して合戦を止めて、四方を取り囲み、年月を送った。その間、様々なことがあった。このようにしているうちに、城中は次第に兵糧が尽きたので、士卒は皆飢えて、降参する者が多くなった。
