ても叶わず、ついに入内した。これを二代の后と申す。主上は時に十八歳、后は時に二十三歳であった。これより主上と上皇は仲睦まじくなくなった。
応保元年二月、春日行幸があった。その他洛辺の諸社へも行幸があった。八月、徳大寺右大臣公能が薨去した。享年四十七歳。基房が右大臣となった。大納言藤原宗能が内大臣となった。平清盛が中納言に任じられた。十一月、美福門院が崩御した。
