通が薨去した。享年六十八歳。法性寺殿と号した。鳥羽天皇の代より当代まで、摂政・関白を務め、再び相国(太政大臣)に任じられ、四十年ほど朝政を執った。八月、崇徳院が讃岐国にて崩御した。享年四十六歳。白峯に葬られた。十月、関白基実が左大臣を辞任し、宗能が内大臣を辞任した。基房が左大臣に転任し、藤原経宗が右大臣となった。基房の弟である大納言兼実が内大臣に任じられた。基房と兼実は左右大将を兼任した。基実は近衛殿の祖である。基房は松殿と号し、兼実は月輪と号し、九条殿とも号した。この三公は皆忠通の子である。 永万元年二月、大宮太政大臣伊通が薨去した。享年七十三歳。三月、伊豆大島の流人源為朝が、鬼ヶ島へ渡って、その地を押領した。五月、平重盛が参議に任じられた。六月、天皇が病気になり、位を御子順仁に譲り、太政天皇と号した。七月二十八日に

Tadamichi died at the age of sixty-eight. He was called Hōshōji-dono. From the reign of Emperor Toba to the present reign, he served as regent and chancellor, was appointed chancellor (taikokudaijin) twice, and held control of court administration for about forty years. In the eighth month, Former Emperor Sutoku died in Sanuki Province at the age of forty-six. He was buried at Shiramine. In the tenth month, Chancellor Motomichi resigned from the position of Minister of the Left, and Muneyoshi resigned from Minister of the Interior. Motofusa was transferred to Minister of the Left, and Fujiwara no Tsunemune became Minister of the Right. Motofusa's younger brother, Major Counselor Kanezane, was appointed Minister of the Interior. Motofusa and Kanezane concurrently held the positions of Left and Right Palace Guards Commanders. Motomichi is the ancestor of the Konoe house. Motofusa was called Matsudono, and Kanezane was called Tsukino-wa and also called Kujō-dono. These three ministers were all sons of Tadamichi. In the first year of Eiman, second month, Ōmiya Chancellor Michimichi died at the age of seventy-three. In the third month, the exile Minamoto no Tametomo from Izu Ōshima crossed to Onigashima and took control of that territory. In the fifth month, Taira no Shigemori was appointed Middle Counselor.
