谷に城を構え、十万人を集めた。これにより、先帝（安徳天皇）は屋島より福原まで行幸された。近辺の武士で源氏に志のある者は、能登守教経がことごとく討ち平らげた。

Yoshitsune first defeated Taira Sukemori and others who had set up camp at Mount Mikusa, then headed toward the rear approach to Ichi-no-tani. Noriyori headed toward the main approach at Ikuta Forest. At the main approach, the Kawara brothers died fighting in the vanguard, while Kajiwara Kagetoki and his son Kagesuye distinguished themselves with two cavalry charges.
