現代語訳
若狭守経俊、蔵人大夫業盛、大夫敦盛、皆討ち死にした。三位中将重衡は生け捕りとなった。その他の郎従等、死ぬ者の数を知らない。ある説には、能登守教経もこの戦いで討たれたという。
宗盛、知盛、教盛、経盛等は、わずかに免れて、先帝（安徳天皇）・建礼門院・二位の禅尼等を伴い、屋島へ赴いた。範頼・義経は帰洛し、法皇へ奏上し、重衡を関東へ遣わした。
三月、平惟盛は屋島を出て、高野・熊野へ参り、那智の海にて身を投げて死んだ。歳二十七。あるいは深山の奥に隠れ住んで、命を全うしたとも言われる。
同月、頼朝は正四位に叙せられた。四月、頼朝は清水冠者義高を殺した。その妻は頼朝の娘である。貞烈にして再び嫁がなかった。五月、平頼盛は鎌倉へ赴き、頼朝に対面した。荘園を数多く授けられて帰洛した。六月、源範頼は三河守に任ぜられた。

Wakasa-no-kami Tsunetoshi, Kurōdo-no-taifu Narimori, and Taifu Atsumori were all killed in battle. Sanmi-chūjō Shigehira was taken alive as a prisoner. The number of other retainers who died is unknown. According to one account, Noto-no-kami Noritsune was also killed in this battle.
Munemori, Tomomori, Norimori, Tsunemori and others barely escaped and, accompanied by the former emperor (Emperor Antoku), Kenreimon-in, and the Nun of Second Rank, headed for Yashima. Noriyori and Yoshitsune returned to the capital, reported to the Cloistered Emperor, and sent Shigehira to the east (Kamakura).
In the third month, Taira Koremori left Yashima, visited Kōya and Kumano, and threw himself into the sea at Nachi, dying at the age of twenty-seven. Alternatively, it is said that he hid deep in the mountains and lived out his natural life.
In the same month, Yoritomo was promoted to Junior Fourth Rank Upper Grade. In the fourth month, Yoritomo killed Shimizu-no-kanja Yoshitaka. His wife was Yoritomo's daughter. Being virtuous and faithful, she never remarried. In the fifth month, Taira Yorimori went to Kamakura and met with Yoritomo. He was granted many estates and returned to the capital. In the sixth month, Minamoto Noriyori was appointed as Mikawa-no-kami.
