頼家の近臣等が謀反を企てた。北条相模守義時が武士に命じてこれを討ち平らげた。十月、鎌倉より北条政範、結城朝光、畠山重保等が上洛し、坊門大納言藤原信清の娘を迎えて実朝の御台所とした。十二月、関東へ下向する際、政範は在京中に病死した。同月、頼実が太政大臣を辞任した。摂政良経が太政大臣に任じられた。近衛右大臣家実が左大臣に任じられた。内大臣隆忠が右大臣に任じられた。同月、上皇が和歌を詠じて石清水・賀茂・住吉の各社に納めた。それぞれ三十首ずつであった。
二年正月、主上が元服した。時に十一歳であった。同月、実朝が正五位下右中将に任じられ、加賀介を兼任した。三月、京都・畿内に大風が吹いた。これは僧栄西が初めて禅宗を開いた祟りであるという風説があったため、栄西を追放すべきとの勅が下された。

In the tenth month, Hōjō Masanori, Yūki Tomomitsu, Hatakeyama Shigeyasu and others traveled from Kamakura to the capital and welcomed the daughter of Bōmon Dainagon Fujiwara Nobukiyo to become Sanetomo's consort. In the twelfth month, when returning to the east, Masanori died of illness while still in the capital. In the same month, Yorisane resigned from the position of Grand Minister of State. Regent Yoshitsune was appointed Grand Minister of State. Konoe Udaijin Iemitsu was appointed Sadaijin (Minister of the Left). Naidaijin Takatada was appointed Udaijin (Minister of the Right).
