内大臣となる。七月、頼経が正二位に叙せられる。十月、奈良の衆徒が公家に恨みがあって蜂起し、城を構える。六波羅の重時がこれを説得するも同心せず。泰時が怒って興福寺領を押収したところ、悪僧は退散した。これによって寺領を回復する。
三年二月、道家が摂政をその婿である近衛左大臣兼経に譲る。四月、従二位藤原家隆が卒去する。歳八十。猫間中納言光隆の子で、定家と和歌において並び称せられた。五月、石清水行幸。八月、頼経が新館を六波羅に造る。十一月、西園寺公経への北山の館への行幸。十二月、源定通が内大臣を辞する。大納言藤原基家が内大臣となる。道家の弟である。

became Inner Minister. In the seventh month, Yoritsune was promoted to Senior Second Rank. In the tenth month, the monk-soldiers of Nara, harboring resentment against the court nobles, rose in revolt and constructed fortifications. Shigetoki of Rokuhara attempted to persuade them, but they would not comply. Yasutoki became angry and seized the lands of Kōfukuji temple, whereupon the evil monks dispersed. Through this, the temple lands were restored.
In the second month of the third year, Michiie transferred the regency to his son-in-law, Konoe Left Minister Kanetsune. In the fourth month, Junior Second Rank Fujiwara no Ietaka died at the age of eighty. He was the son of Nekomano Middle Counselor Mitsutaka and was renowned alongside Teika for his waka poetry. In the fifth month, there was an imperial visit to Iwashimizu. In the eighth month, Yoritsune built a new residence at Rokuhara. In the eleventh month, there was an imperial visit to Saionji Kinetsune's Kitayama residence. In the twelfth month, Minamoto no Sadamichi resigned from Inner Minister. Major Counselor Fujiwara no Motoie became Inner Minister. He was Michiie's younger brother.
