延応元年正月、太政大臣良平が出家する。享年五十六歳。二月、後鳥羽院が隠岐国にて崩御する。享年六十歳。
仁治元年二月、勅使大納言藤原公相が伊勢へ参宮する。公相は公経の孫、実氏の子である。九月、三条実親が右大臣を辞任する。十月、大炊御門家嗣が内大臣を辞任する。大納言実経が右大臣に任ぜられ、衣笠大納言藤原家良が内大臣に任ぜられる。家良は近衛家より分かれた家である。十一月、頼経が武士に命じて、京都・鎌倉で篝火を焚き、辻々を警備・固守させる。十二月、摂政兼経が太政大臣となる。この年、北条時房が死去する。享年六十六歳。

Regent Fujiwara no Moroie died. In the same month, Yoritsune returned to Kamakura.
In the first month of En'ō 1 (1239), Chancellor Yoshihira took Buddhist vows at age fifty-six. In the second month, Retired Emperor Go-Toba died in Oki Province at age sixty.
In the second month of Ninji 1 (1240), imperial envoy Major Counselor Fujiwara no Kinsuke made a pilgrimage to Ise. Kinsuke was the grandson of Kinetsune and son of Saneuji. In the ninth month, Sanjo Sanechika resigned as Right Minister. In the tenth month, Oinomikado Ietsugu resigned as Inner Minister. Major Counselor Sanetsune was appointed Right Minister, and Kinugasa Major Counselor Fujiwara no Ieyoshi was appointed Inner Minister. Ieyoshi belonged to a branch family that had separated from the Konoe house. In the eleventh month, Yoritsune ordered warriors to light watch fires and guard and fortify street corners in both Kyoto and Kamakura. In the twelfth month, Regent Kanetsune became Chancellor. This year, Hōjō Tokifusa died at age sixty-six.
