現代語訳
左大臣良実が理髪役を務めた。八月、藤原定家が死去する。享年八十一歳。
十二月、道家の孫で、故摂政教実の娘である彦子が、九歳にて女御となる。道家はますます威勢を振るう。この年、僧円爾が宋より帰朝する。
三年正月、主上が崩御する。享年十二歳。泉涌寺にて葬礼が行われる。
この後、帝王がこの寺で葬られることが多くなる。年号は天福一年、文暦一年、嘉禎三年、暦仁一年、延応一年、仁治三年で、合わせて在位十年である。
第八十七代
後嵯峨院 諱は邦仁。土御門院の第二子である。母は源通子で、宰相中将通宗の娘である。承久の乱の時、わずか二歳であったが、土御門大納言源通方が外戚の親しみがあることにより、養育し奉った。十八歳の時、通方が死去したため、祖母（文が途中で切れている）

Left Minister Yoshizane performed the hair-cutting ceremony. In the eighth month, Fujiwara no Teika died at age eighty-one.
In the twelfth month, Hikoko, granddaughter of Dōke and daughter of the late regent Norimitsu, became imperial consort at age nine. Dōke increasingly wielded his influence. This year, the monk Enni returned from Song China.
In the third year, first month, His Majesty died at age twelve. The funeral was held at Sennyu-ji Temple.
From this time forward, emperors were often buried at this temple. The era names were Tenpuku one year, Bunryaku one year, Katei three years, Ryakunin one year, En'ō one year, and Ninji three years, totaling ten years of reign.
The Eighty-seventh Emperor
Emperor Go-Saga. His personal name was Kunihito. He was the second son of Emperor Tsuchimikado. His mother was Minamoto no Tsūko, daughter of Middle Counselor and Middle Captain Tsūmune. During the Jōkyū Disturbance, when he was only two years old, Tsuchimikado Major Counselor Minamoto no Michikata, due to his close relationship as a relative by marriage, raised and cared for him. When he was eighteen years old, Michikata died, so his grandmother (the text breaks off here)
