後深草院 諱は久仁。後嵯峨院の第二子である。母は中宮藤原姞子で、西園寺実氏の娘である。寛元元年に生まれて、同四年正月に即位した。時に四歳。政務は後嵯峨上皇が院中で処理された。実氏は外祖父の勢力で北条氏と交わりを結び、権力を専らにした。道家もなお存命で、実氏と同じく政治を行った。関白良実は父道家との不仲により職を辞められ、その弟左大臣

The Eighty-eighth Emperor
Retired Emperor Go-Fukakusa: His personal name was Kunihito. He was the second son of Retired Emperor Go-Saga. His mother was Empress Fujiwara no Yoshiko, daughter of Saionji Saneuji. He was born in the first year of Kangen and ascended the throne in the first month of the fourth year at the age of four.
