（権貴は）この一門にあった。
弘長二年正月、三条の公親が内大臣を辞した。鷹司の基忠が内大臣に任じられた（割注：兼平の子）。七月、公相が太政大臣を辞した。
十一月二十八日、一向宗の開山・範宴が入寂した。享年九十一歳。これが親鸞である。日野家の一族である。
三年二月、後嵯峨上皇が北山の亀山殿においでになり、主上（亀山天皇）が行幸し、新院（後深草院）も御幸された。和歌の御会・御遊があった。
同月、鎌倉にて北条政村が一日千首和歌の会を催した。将軍宗尊が和歌に優れていたゆえ、政村も政務の合間に（和歌を）好んだのであろうか。
三月、藤原実雄が左大臣を辞した。
八月、一条の前摂政・実経が左大臣に再任された。先例としてめずらしいことである。
十月、将軍宗尊が上洛するとの沙汰があった（以下次ページへ続く）。

In the first month of the second year of Kōchō, Sanjō Kimitika resigned as Inner Minister (Naidaijin). Takatsukasa Mototada was appointed Inner Minister. (Interlinear note: He was the son of Kanehira.) In the seventh month, Kinsuke resigned as Grand Minister of State (Daijō-daijin).
On the twenty-eighth day of the eleventh month, Han'en, the founder of the Ikko sect, passed away. He was ninety-one years of age. This was Shinran. He was a member of the Hino family.
In the second month of the third year, the Retired Emperor Gosaga was residing at the Kitayama Kameyama Palace, and the reigning Emperor paid a visit (gyōkō), as did the Shin'in (Retired Emperor Gofukakusa) (on a御幸). A poetry gathering and entertainment were held.
In the same month, in Kamakura, Hōjō Masamura held a one-day, one-thousand-poem waka gathering. Perhaps because the Shogun Munetaka excelled at waka, Masamura too developed a fondness for it during breaks from the affairs of government.
In the third month, Fujiwara no Saneo resigned as Left Minister.
In the eighth month, the former Regent of the Ichijō house, Sanetsune, was reappointed as Left Minister — a most unusual precedent.
