（文永）七年（1270）正月、北条時茂が六波羅にて卒去した。享年三十歳。十一月、二条前関白・良実が薨去した。享年五十五歳。福光園院と号した。同月、将軍・惟康が従三位に叙せられ、左中将に任ぜられ、源の姓を賜った。
この年、蒙古の使者・趙良弼が高麗国に到り、日本への取り次ぎ（交渉の仲介）を求めた。
（文永）八年（1271）三月、花山院・通雅が右大臣を辞した。二条師忠が右大臣に任ぜられた。花山院師継が内大臣に任ぜられた。九月、蒙古の使者・趙良弼らが筑前の今津に到着し、牒状を提出した。公家・武家ともに返事をしなかった。良弼は筑紫より手ぶらで（空しく）帰った。日本側からも、弥四郎という者を使者として添えて派遣した。蒙古の王は弥四郎と対面してもてなし、（弥四郎を）帰国させた。十月、北条義宗が鎌倉より上洛し、六波羅の北方に居を構え、南方に居た時輔とともに両六波羅（南北の六波羅探題）を務めた。義宗は（続く）

In the first month of the seventh year (of Bun'ei, 1270), Hōjō Tokishige died at Rokuhara at the age of thirty. In the eleventh month, former Regent Nijō Yoshizane passed away at the age of fifty-five. He was given the posthumous title Fukumitsuen'in. In the same month, Shogun Korehisa was granted the Junior Third Rank, appointed Middle Captain of the Left, and bestowed the surname Minamoto.
In this same year, the Mongol envoy Zhao Liangbi traveled to the kingdom of Koryŏ and requested mediation for communications with Japan.
In the third month of the eighth year (of Bun'ei, 1271), Kazanin Michimasa resigned as Minister of the Right. Nijō Morochika was appointed Minister of the Right. Kazanin Moretsugu was appointed Palace Minister (Inner Minister). In the ninth month, the Mongol envoy Zhao Liangbi and his party arrived at Imazu in Chikuzen Province and submitted a diplomatic letter. Neither the court nobles nor the military government sent a reply. Liangbi returned from Tsukushi empty-handed. Japan also sent along a man called Yashirō as an envoy.
