るべしと謀ったのだということである。
（文永）十年（1273）五月、鷹司基忠が関白を辞した。九条忠家が関白となった。同月、北条政村が死去した。享年六十九歳。義時の四男である。六月、時宗は北条義政に執権の加判をさせた。政村の後任である。これは重時の四男である。八月、山階の前左大臣藤原実雄が薨去した。享年五十七歳。主上（亀山天皇）と新院（後深草院）の舅であり、宇多・伏見（天皇）の外祖父でもある。また西園寺家の一族であることから、当世に威を振るっていた。この年、蒙古の使者趙良弼が来朝した。都へも鎌倉へも入ることを許されず、大宰府から追い返された。
（文永）十一年（1274）正月、主上（亀山天皇）は二十六歳にて、位を御子の世仁に譲られた。年号は文応一年・弘長三年・文永十一年（在位）、合わせて在位十五年。

In the fifth month of the tenth year (of Bun'ei, 1273), Takatsukasa Mototada resigned as regent (kampaku). Kujō Tadaie became regent. In the same month, Hōjō Masamura died at the age of sixty-nine. He was the fourth son of Yoshitoki. In the sixth month, Tokimune had Hōjō Yoshimasa affix his seal as co-signatory of the shogunal regency (shikken). He was Masamura's replacement. This Yoshimasa was the fourth son of Shigetoki. In the eighth month, the former Minister of the Left of Yamashina, Fujiwara no Saneo, passed away at the age of fifty-seven. He was the father-in-law of both the reigning Emperor (Kameyama) and the Retired Emperor (Go-Fukakusa), and the maternal grandfather of (the future Emperors) Uda and Fushimi. Furthermore, being a member of the Saionji family, he wielded great influence in the world of his day. In this same year, the Mongol envoy Zhao Liangbi came to Japan. He was permitted to enter neither the capital nor Kamakura, and was turned back from Dazaifu.
In the first month of the eleventh year (of Bun'ei, 1274), the reigning Emperor (Kameyama), at the age of twenty-six, abdicated in favor of his son Yohito. His reign spanned the eras of Bun'ō (one year), Kōchō (three years), and Bun'ei (eleven years), totaling fifteen years on the throne.
