建治二年（1276年）五月、花山院の太政大臣・通雅が薨去した。享年四十四歳。十二月、摂政の兼平が太政大臣に再任された。
今年、蒙古の使者が長門国に到着したが、鎌倉へ召し下されて首を刎ねられた。
建治三年（1277年）正月、主上（亀山天皇の皇子、後宇多天皇）が元服した。御年十一歳。兼平が加冠役を務めた。理髪役は頭中将の具顕であった。
同月、亀山上皇のもとへ朝覲の行幸があった。三月、石清水への行幸があった。四月、賀茂への行幸があった。
同月、兼平が太政大臣を辞した。五月、北条義政が執権加判を辞し、剃髪して信濃国の塩田に隠居した。時宗が一判（単独決裁）により、大小の事柄を下知した。
十二月、東宮・熙仁が元服した。春宮傅を務める二条の左大臣・師忠が加冠役を務めた。春宮大夫の源具守が理髪役を務めた。
弘安元年（1278年）正月、北条時村が上洛して六波羅の北方の担当となった。（政村の子である。）
十二月、兼平が摂政を辞して関白となった。

In the fifth month of Kenji 2 (1276), Michimasa, Grand Minister of State (Daijō-daijin) of the Kazanin clan, passed away. He was forty-four years of age. In the twelfth month, Regent Kanehira was reappointed as Grand Minister of State.
This year, Mongol envoys arrived in Nagato Province but were summoned to Kamakura and beheaded.
In the first month of Kenji 3 (1277), the Emperor (later Emperor Kameyama's imperial son, Emperor Gouda) came of age in the genpuku ceremony. He was eleven years old. Kanehira performed the kakan (crowning) role. The head chamberlain (Tō no Chūjō) Tomoaki served as the hairdresser (rihats) for the ceremony.
In the same month, there was an imperial visit (gyōkō) to the Retired Emperor Kameyama for the chōkin (filial audience) ceremony. In the third month, there was an imperial visit to Iwashimizu [Hachimangū]. In the fourth month, there was an imperial visit to Kamo [Shrine].
In the same month, Kanehira resigned as Grand Minister of State. In the fifth month, Hōjō Yoshimasa resigned from his role as co-signatory regent (shikken kahan), shaved his head, and retired to Shiota in Shinano Province. Tokimune assumed sole authority (ichihan), issuing directives on all matters great and small.
In the twelfth month, Crown Prince Hirohito came of age in the genpuku ceremony. The Left Minister of State Morotada of the Nijō clan, who served as the Crown Prince's guardian (Tōgū no Fu), performed the kakan (crowning) role. Minamoto no Tomomori, the Master of the Crown Prince's Household (Tōgū no Daibu), served as hairdresser.
In the first month of Kōan 1 (1278), Hōjō Tokimura went up to the capital and assumed charge of the northern division of the Rokuhara [Tandai]. (He was the son of Masamura.)
In the twelfth month, Kanehira resigned as Regent and became Chancellor (Kanpaku).
