（貞子は大宮女院の）外祖母であり、主上（後宇多）・東宮（伏見）の曾祖母にあたる。我が国の古来の例を見ると、后の身として目出たき事例があるとはいえ、あるいは寿命が短くて御子の在位を見ることができなかった者もあり、あるいは御子の帝に先立たれて、長生きを悔いる者もある。しかるに大宮女院は、三代の帝の国母であり、主上・東宮を孫に持ち、その母（貞子）がなお存命であって、一家が富み栄えているのは、たぐいまれな果報というべきである。この賀においても、主上が北山へ行幸し、両院も御幸、東宮も行啓され、さまざまな御遊があった。

...Sadako was the maternal grandmother of the Ōmiya no Nyōin, and thus the great-grandmother of His Majesty (Go-Uda) and the Crown Prince (Fushimi). While there are celebrated precedents in our country's history of consorts who attained great honor, some had short lives and did not live to see their children reign, while others outlived their imperial children and came to regret their longevity. Yet the Ōmiya no Nyōin was the mother of three successive emperors, counted both His Majesty and the Crown Prince among her grandchildren, and moreover her own mother still lived—with the whole family prospering and flourishing. This was indeed a rare and fortunate blessing seldom seen. For this celebration, His Majesty made a royal progress to Kitayama, both Retired Emperors also made their august visits, and the Crown Prince likewise attended in procession, and there were various entertainments and diversions.
In the fourth month, the Former Regent Takatsukasa Mototada was appointed Grand Minister of State (Daijō Daijin).
