英語訳

The temple residence came to be called "Jidenō" (Temple Palace). The Retired Emperor devoted himself to Zen Buddhism. The present Nanzenji Temple was originally the imperial residence of this Retired Emperor (Kameyama). In the twelfth month, Nobitsugu resigned from the position of Naidaijin (Minister of the Interior). Tōin Dainagon Kimimori became Naidaijin. He was the son of Sanao (Saneo). In the fourth year (of Kōan, 1281), second month, the Senior Retired Emperor (Go-Fukakusa) took the tonsure at the age of forty-eight. His Buddhist name was Sōjitsu. In the fifth month, Konoe Iemoto was relieved of his position as Kampaku (Imperial Regent), and Kujō Sadahiro (Tadanori), the Minister of the Left (Safu), became Kampaku. In the seventh month, Tōin Kimimori resigned from the position of Naidaijin, and Nijō Kanehira became Naidaijin. In the twelfth month, Tadanori resigned from the position of Minister of the Left (Safu). In the same month, Saionji former Naidaijin Sanekane was appointed Daijō-daijin (Grand Minister of State). Takatsukasa Ufu Kanetada was transferred to the position of Minister of the Left, and Nijō Naidaijin Kanehira was transferred to the position of Minister of the Right (Ufu). Tokudaiji Kimitaka was appointed Naidaijin. Furthermore, ever since Saionji Kintsune was appointed Daijō-daijin in the first year of Jōō (1222) during the reign of the Retired Emperor Go-Horikawa, through Saneo (Saneo), Kinuji (Kinsuke), and on to Sanekane, the position has been held successively by four generations of the Saionji family. This is what is referred to as "the four generations of Saionji Shōkoku (Grand Ministers)."
