In the fifth year (of Kōan, 1282), fifth month, Kimitaka resigned from the position of Naidaijin. In the eighth month, Dainagon (Major Counselor) of Junior First Rank, Minamoto no Sadazane, was granted the honorary rank of Jun-daijin (Quasi-Minister). In the eleventh month, Sanjō Saneshige was appointed Naidaijin. In the twelfth month, Sanekane resigned from the position of Daijō-daijin. In the first year of Einin (1293), first month, Sanjō Saneshige resigned from the position of Naidaijin. Kujō Moronori was appointed Naidaijin. In the second month, Kujō Tadanori ceased to be Kampaku, and Konoe Iemoto was reappointed as Kampaku. In the third month, Hōjō Sadatoki, for the first time, dispatched Hōjō Kanetoki from Rokuhara to Tsukushi (Kyushu), establishing the post of Chinzei Tandai (Military Commissioner for the Western Provinces) to oversee the governance of the western provinces and to serve as a check against foreign invaders.
