In the fourth year (of Einin, 1296), sixth month, Konoe Kampaku (Chief Regent) Ieyuki passed away. He was thirty-six years of age. He was posthumously known as Jōmyōji. In the seventh month, Takatsukasa Sadaijin (Minister of the Left) Kanetada became Kampaku (Chief Regent) and resigned from his position as Sadaijin. In the eleventh month, a man called Yoshimi no Magotarō Yoshiyo raised a rebellion. The plot was discovered, and he was executed in Kamakura. Yoshiyo was a descendant of Minamoto no Noriyori, the Governor of Mikawa Province. In the twelfth month, Nijō Kanemoto was transferred to the position of Sadaijin (Minister of the Left). Kujō Moronori was appointed Udaijin (Minister of the Right). Jundaijin (Acting Grand Minister) Minamoto no Sadazane was appointed Naidaijin (Minister of the Center). In the fifth year (of Einin, 1297), fifth month, Hōjō Morihusa returned to Kamakura from Rokuhara. In the sixth month, Hōjō Hisamori returned to Kamakura from Rokuhara. Hōjō Munekata and Hōjō Munenori went up to the capital and served as the two Rokuhara Tandai commissioners. Munekata served as the Northern Commissioner, and Munenori served as the Southern Commissioner. In the tenth month, Minamoto no Sadazane was stripped of his position as Naidaijin, and Kuga Dainagon (Senior Counselor) Minamoto no Michio was appointed Naidaijin. Dainagon Minamoto no Michiyori was appointed Jundaijin (Acting Grand Minister).
