道平が内府（内大臣）に任じられた。
二年（1307年）二月、中納言・平の経親が勅使として鎌倉へ下向し、三月に帰洛した。
七月、国母・遊義門院が崩御された。御年三十八。後宇多上皇の最愛の御方であったため、悲嘆に堪えられず、御落飾（出家）され、法皇と号された。時に四十歳であった。これより真言の密法を伝授され、女色を断ち、嵯峨の大覚寺を建て、宇多法皇（寛平法皇）の跡を慕われた。ある説には、遊義門院が崩御された翌年に御剃髪なさったとも言われている。
八月、北条時範が六波羅にて死去した。北条貞房がその代わりとして上洛した。
三年（1308年）七月、北条貞時の計らいによって、将軍・久明親王が帰洛された。正応二年（1289年）より今年まで、在位二十年。天下の武将という名ばかりであって、大事も小事もすべて北条氏の思いのままであったが、

In the second month of the second year [of Tokuji, 1307], the Chūnagon (Middle Counselor) Taira no Tsunechika traveled down to Kamakura as an imperial envoy, returning to the capital in the third month.
In the seventh month, the Empress Dowager (Kokumo) Yūgimон'in passed away at the age of thirty-eight. As she had been the most beloved consort of the Retired Emperor Go-Uda, he was overcome with grief and took holy orders (shukke), taking the title of Hōō (Dharma Emperor). He was forty years old at the time. From this point on, he devoted himself to receiving the esoteric teachings (mippō) of Shingon Buddhism, renounced the company of women, built the Daikaku-ji Temple in Saga, and sought to follow in the footsteps of Emperor Uda (the Kanpyō Emperor). According to one account, however, he took his tonsure in the year following the death of Yūgimon'in.
In the eighth month, Hōjō Tokinori died at Rokuhara. Hōjō Sadafusa went up to the capital to take his place.
In the seventh month of the third year [of Tokuji, 1308], through the arrangement of Hōjō Sadatoki, the Shogun Prince Hisaaki was sent back to the capital. From the second year of Shōō [1289] to the present year, his tenure had spanned twenty years. Though holding the name of supreme military commander (Buke) of the realm, both great and small matters were entirely at the discretion of the Hōjō clan; nevertheless...
