現代語訳
（将軍という名ばかりで大事も小事もすべて北条氏の思いのままであったが、）ようやく年を経ること久しいゆえに、職を替えたのであろうか。久明の子・守邦親王はわずか七歳であったが、征夷大将軍に推戴されて、鎌倉の主とされた。貞時はすでに剃髪していたため、北条師時・北条宗宣をもって執権・連署とした。守邦の母は、惟康（親王）の娘である。
八月、主上（後二条天皇）が崩御された。御年二十四。年号は乾元一年・嘉元三年・徳治二年余り、合わせて在位六年余り。

花園院 諱は富仁。伏見院の第二子である。母は顕親門院・藤原厚子で、左大臣・実雄の娘である。後二条天皇の在位中、関東（幕府）の計らいによって東宮（皇太子）に立てられた。

Emperor Hanazono — his personal name (imina) was Tomihito. He was the second son of the Fushimi-in (Retired Emperor Fushimi). His mother was Kenshine Mon'in, Fujiwara no Atsuko, daughter of the Minister of the Left, Sanemao. During the reign of Emperor Go-Nijō, he was established as Crown Prince (Tōgū) through the arrangement of the Kantō (the Bakufu).
In the eighth month of the third year of Tokuji [1308], Emperor Go-Nijō passed away. The Crown Prince ascended to the throne at the age of twelve.
