前の内大臣・実重が太政大臣に任じられた。洞院の前右大臣・実泰（さねやす）が左大臣に任じられた。花山院の大納言・家定が右大臣に任じられた。一条の大納言・内経（うちつね）が内大臣に任じられた。十二月、関東（鎌倉幕府）の取り計らいによって、二条道平が関白を退き、一条内経が関白となった。
元応元年（1319年）正月、北条高時が修理権大夫に任じられた。四月、家定が右大臣を辞した。六月、関白・内経が内大臣を辞した。大納言・源有房が右大臣に任じられた。七月、有房が薨去した。九条の大納言・房実（ふさざね）が右大臣に任じられ、大納言・源通重（みちしげ）が内大臣に任じられた。八月、西園寺の前太政大臣・実兼の娘、橲子（じゅし）が中宮となった。安野中将・藤原公廉（きんかど）の娘・廉子（れんし）が、中宮に従って入内した。天皇はこの廉子を寵愛し、「三位の局（つぼね）」と号した。後に准后となった。その他にも宮女が多く、様々な腹から男女の皇子・皇女が多く生まれた。

The former Minister of the Interior, Saneshige, was appointed Grand Minister of State (Daijō-daijin). The former Minister of the Right of the Tōin family, Saneyasu, was appointed Minister of the Left. Kazanin's Major Counselor (Dainagon), Iesada, was appointed Minister of the Right. Ichijō's Major Counselor, Uchitsune, was appointed Minister of the Interior. In the twelfth month, through the arrangement of the Kantō (Kamakura shogunate), Nijō Michihira stepped down as Regent, and Ichijō Uchitsune became the new Regent.
In the first month of Gennō 1 (1319), Hōjō Takatoki was appointed Acting Master of the Office of Palace Repairs (Shurinokon-no-daibū). In the fourth month, Iesada resigned from the post of Minister of the Right. In the sixth month, Regent Uchitsune resigned from the post of Minister of the Interior. Renshi, daughter of Middle Captain of the Imperial Guard Ano Fujiwara no Kinkado, entered the palace in attendance upon the Chūgū. The Emperor greatly favored Renshi, and she was given the title "Sanmi no Tsubone" (Lady of the Third Rank). She later became Jun-daijō Tennō (Honorary Retired Empress). Beyond these, there were many ladies-in-waiting at court, and the Emperor fathered numerous imperial princes and princesses by various mothers.
