（嘉暦）三年（1328）十月、前将軍久明親王が薨去した。享年五十五歳。
十二月、天皇の子・尊雲法親王を天台座主とした。この法親王は武勇を好み、ひそかに鎌倉を討つべき志があった。太塔の宮（大塔宮）とはこの方のことである。
元徳元年（1329）六月、三条前相国実重が薨去した。享年七十一歳。
十二月、久我前相国源通雄が薨去した。享年七十三歳。
（元徳）二年（1330）正月、二条道平が関白を辞した。近衛右府経忠が関白となった。
二月、内大臣基嗣が右府に任じられ、久我大納言源長通が内大臣となった。
三月、長通が辞退し、洞院大納言公賢が内府（内大臣）に任じられた。同月、（天皇は）東大寺・興福寺・延暦寺へ行幸し、ひそかに彼ら僧徒等を語らい、武家を討たんと謀った。尊雲法親王がその首謀者であった。

In the tenth month of the third year [of Karyaku, 1328], the former Shogun Prince Hisaaki passed away. He was fifty-five years of age.
In the twelfth month, Sonun Hōshinnō, the son of the Emperor, was appointed Tendai Zasu (Chief Abbot of the Tendai sect). This Prince favored martial valor and secretly harbored the ambition to strike down Kamakura. He is none other than the Prince of Tōtō-no-Miya (Prince Daitō).
In the sixth month of the first year of Gentoku [1329], Sanjō former Shōkoku Saneshige passed away. He was seventy-one years of age.
In the twelfth month, Koga former Shōkoku Minamoto no Michikatsuo passed away. He was seventy-three years of age.
In the first month of the second year [of Gentoku, 1330], Nijō Michihira resigned as Kampaku. Konoe Ufu (Minister of the Right) Tsunetada became Kampaku.
In the second month, Naidaijin Mototsugu was appointed Ufu (Minister of the Right), and Koga Dainagon Minamoto no Nagatōru became Naidaijin (Minister of the Interior).
In the third month, Nagatōru resigned, and Tōin Dainagon Kinkata was appointed Naifu (Minister of the Interior). In the same month, [the Emperor] made imperial visits to Tōdai-ji, Kōfuku-ji, and Enryaku-ji, secretly conspiring with the monks there to plot an attack against the warrior houses (the shogunate). Sonun Hōshinnō was the ringleader of this scheme.
