現代語訳
（円観・文観・忠円らが）召し捕られて鎌倉へ下向した。これらの者たちは勅命を受けて武家を調伏しようとした故である。皆、遠流（遠島）に処された。日野資朝は佐渡の配所にいたところを、本間という武士が北条高時の命を受けてこれを殺した。資朝の子・阿新と呼ばれる童（わらわ）は、本間を殺して父の仇を報いた。
六月、北条茂時が執権に補せられた。（北条）熙時の子である。
七月、日野俊基が再び鎌倉へ召し寄せられて殺された。資朝・俊基の両人は、とりわけ密謀の事に深く関わっていた故である。
八月、近衛経忠が関白を辞した。鷹司冬教が関白となった。
九月、長崎高資が逆威（横暴な権勢）を振るうこと甚だしいため、高時はひそかに高資の一族・高頼に命じて高資を殺そうとした。事が露顕したため、高頼はかえって奥州へ流され、高資はいよいよ驕った。鎌倉の政道（まつりごと）は衰えて、人々は皆（幕府に）背くようになった。これを聞いて、主上（後醍醐天皇）はまた鎌倉を謀ろうとした。

[Continuing from the previous page: the monks En'kan, Mon'kan, Chūen, and others were] arrested and sent down to Kamakura. This was because these individuals had received an imperial decree and attempted to subjugate the warrior houses through esoteric rituals. They were all sentenced to distant exile. Hinō Suketomo, who had been residing at his place of banishment on Sado Island, was killed by a warrior named Hōma (Honma), who acted under orders from Hōjō Takatoki. Suketomo's son, a young boy called Anii, killed Hōma and avenged his father's death.
In the sixth month, Hōjō Shigetoki was appointed Shikken (Regent). He was the son of [Hōjō] Hirotoki.
In the seventh month, Hinō Toshimoto was once again summoned to Kamakura and killed. This was because both Suketomo and Toshimoto had been deeply involved in the secret conspiracy.
In the eighth month, Konoe Tsunetada resigned as Kampaku. Takatsukasa Fuyunori became Kampaku.
In the ninth month, because Nagasaki Takasuke's abuse of power had become extreme, Takatoki secretly ordered Takasuke's kinsman Takayori to kill Takasuke. When the plot was discovered, Takayori was instead banished to Ōshū (the northeastern provinces), and Takasuke grew even more arrogant. The governance of Kamakura fell into decline, and all people turned against it. Upon hearing this, the Emperor once again plotted against Kamakura.
